Costume Calamity Averted...

Feeling a more than a little guilty about procrastinating on the decision of whether or not to allow Drew to attend a Halloween party, and thus causing a no costume panic...hey, we still had five days, right?... I began a vain but comprehensive search for a Michael Myers mask to help ease my conscious. Unable to find a trace of Myers anywhere, I approached Drew with the idea of Leather Face of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre fame...felt pretty good about this one, since I had seen a couple of these costumes in my search... He calls his Mom, borrows a chainsaw, and I head out the next morning to procure the finishing touches. Sold Out!!! He and I head north that night. Still no luck. I tell him we'll leave early for the concert and stop of at a few malls and such on the way. Four more tries, still no costume.

Time to change tact. I appeal to his Comical Genius tendency and suggest an alternate costume. He mulled it over a while, the whole time I'm telling him how classic it will be, desperate for some sort of relief from my transgression. He concedes. All's well, the birds are singing, the sun is shining, the world is right. We can now enjoy the concert. We made great time, ended up with about two hours to kill after finding the Arena. I spotted a Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World across the interstate and we head over for a little outdoor gear consumption. Turns out to be a nice little shopping mall attached to it. We do the Pro shop thing, and held out to explore the mall. still with too much time on our hands. Drew, "Hey look, a Spencer's." Me, "Let's check it out." Me, "Hey look, a Myers mask." Drew, "You're kidding." "Nope, we can take the other back if you want to go this route." "Nah, the comical better suites my personality than the maniacal." I couldn't resist the opportunity, "Good to see you're taking after me instead of your Mom." A chuckle, a good bond and a great concert later, my guilt long gone...

Curious to see what was better than A Mike Meyers themed costume? Check out this picture !!! or see the lot.
