Intrepid Interaction

This week's Carnival of the Vanities is being hosted at Creative Slips. A creative...no pun intended... Intrepid theme, plus the insight to place H and H's submission in “Bonny's,” The Ship’s Bar...

No quote... Go to the Carnival !!

Sharing More Than Blogs...

Kudos to deb c. at SugarFused for sharing the script necessary for my latest sidebar addition, my Blogshare stats..now maybe H and H won't feel so neglected... Can't see it? Scroll down a ways, stopping to visit the Shareblogs crew, check for updated sites ( ) on the blogroll, past the pitiful site stats and there it is...in all its glory, BS$7billion and counting...

Can't Write for Reading...

Sat down today with all intentions of researching for the Grail...finally have a rough outline, but character development and locale still a bit schetchy... but, in a moment of exasperation, I just through my hands up, my eyes resting on one of my favorite novels, Tuesdays with Morrie. I decided a break was in order, grabbed it off the shelf, and started to thumb through, planning to hit the highlights...unfortunately, the whole book is a highlight, so more actual reading than thumbing...

"Maybe it was a grandparent, or a teacher, or a colleague. Someone older, patient and wise, who understood you when you were young and searching, helped you see the world as a more profound place, gave you sound advice to help you make your way through it.

For Mitch Albom, that person was Morrie Schwartz, his college professor from nearly twenty years ago.

Maybe, like Mitch, you lost track of this mentor as you made your way, and the insights faded, and the world seemed colder. Wouldn't you like to see that person again, ask the bigger questions that still haunt you, receive wisdom for your busy life today the way you once did when you were younger?

Mitch Albom had that second chance. He rediscovered Morrie in the last months of the older man's life. Knowing he was dying, Morrie visited with Mitch in his study every Tuesday, just as they used to back in college. Their rekindled relationship turned into one final "class": lessons in how to live.

Tuesdays with Morrie is a magical chronicle of their time together, through which Mitch shares Morrie's lasting gift with the world."

Morrie reminds me so much of my late grandfather, the same insightful outlook, the same leading but un-intrusive manner of teaching...once you've learn how to die, you can learn how to live...

Yahoo for YAHOO!

My FeedDemon is in overdrive !! Kudos to Jeremy at Jeremy Zawodny's blog for the heads up on the launch of the YAHOO! News RSS feeds...RSS. It's like sex. You can never get enough and it's just gets better and better, unlike cocaine, which is never quite as good as the first time...

I figure if I mention FeedDemon enough, maybe Nick will find it in his heart to reward my dedication with the final release at no charge...I wish...
